Italian Volleyball Player Ituma Died After Falling From The Window Of The Hotel Where She Was Staying

Cengiz ÇOBAN – Ramazan EĞRİ – İsa ALMAÇAYIR /İSTANBUL,(DHA)- National volleyball player Ebrar Karakurt’s teammate, 19-year-old Julia Ituma was found dead in front of the hotel they were staying in Üsküdar. It is stated that Julia Ituma fell from the window of her room on the 6th floor of the hotel. Police investigation continues.

Eczacıbaşı Dynavit defeated Igor Novara 3-0 in the second leg of the Champions League Semifinal and qualified for the final. After the match, the Italian team stayed at the hotel next to Burhan Felek Sports Hall. The body of Julia Ituma was found in front of the hotel around 05.30 in the morning. Police and medical teams arrived at the scene. The medical teams determined that Ituma lost her life. While the police teams started to investigate the incident, it was learned that Julia Ituma, an Italian citizen of Nigerian origin, was staying on the 6th floor of the hotel.

The volleyball player’s shoes attracted attention where the police were working. It was determined that Julia Ituma fell from the window of the hotel where she was staying. Police determined that Julia Ituma entered her room after walking in the corridor between 22.30-23.50.

Ituma’s death shocked the Italian team. Ebrar Karakurt was also shocked by the incident in front of the hotel. Volleyball player Julia Ituma’s body was sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the exact cause of death after examining the crime scene and investigation of the prosecutor’s office. The police are continuing a large-scale investigation into the incident.
